hugginstouring

Here’s a picture of the TET touring frame you guys just built for me, all built up and ready to go somewhere. I’m waiting to get some matching silver racks so I’ve thrown on the saddlebag forĀ  this picture to emphasize its load-carrying capability. It rides very comfortably and stably with the low BB, extended head tube, and big 26″ tires, and I love all the extra braze-ons. Check out how the fenders look with the high fork mounts – nice work!

Here’s what’s on it:

  • XT rear derailleur w/Carmichael sealed pulleys
  • Sora front derailleur (the token cheapo part… silver and shifts fine)
  • Dura-Ace 9-speed bar end shifters
  • SRAM cassette 11-34
  • Shimano RSX crankset 24-36-46
  • Zefal fenders
  • Terry Liberator Y saddle
  • Salsa Shaft seatpost (250mm)
  • Dimension 90mm stem
  • Cane Creek S-2 headset
  • Rivendell/Nitto “Noodle” 44cm barsSun Rhyno Lite rims on Deore hubs
  • Coda (probably Tektro) linear-pull brakes with Travel AgentsPanaracer T-Serv folding 26×1.75 (42-559) tires, only 440 grams each!

I did end up going with linear-pull brakes because they gave me better fender clearance in the back (and the pulley doesn’t cause any problems with rack mounting, which was a nice surprise) but it’s good to have the cable stop there in case I decide to switch to cantis in the future.

Thanks again!
