David’s TET Touring Rig

hugginstouring

Here’s a picture of the TET touring frame you guys just built for me, all built up and ready to go somewhere. I’m waiting to get some matching silver racks so I’ve thrown on the saddlebag forĀ  this picture to emphasize its load-carrying capability. It rides very comfortably and stably with the low BB, extended head tube, and big 26″ tires, and I love all the extra braze-ons. Check out how the fenders look with the high fork mounts - nice work!

Here’s what’s on it:

  • XT rear derailleur w/Carmichael sealed pulleys
  • Sora front derailleur (the token cheapo part… silver and shifts fine)
  • Dura-Ace 9-speed bar end shifters
  • SRAM cassette 11-34
  • Shimano RSX crankset 24-36-46
  • Zefal fenders
  • Terry Liberator Y saddle
  • Salsa Shaft seatpost (250mm)
  • Dimension 90mm stem
  • Cane Creek S-2 headset
  • Rivendell/Nitto “Noodle” 44cm barsSun Rhyno Lite rims on Deore hubs
  • Coda (probably Tektro) linear-pull brakes with Travel AgentsPanaracer T-Serv folding 26×1.75 (42-559) tires, only 440 grams each!

I did end up going with linear-pull brakes because they gave me better fender clearance in the back (and the pulley doesn’t cause any problems with rack mounting, which was a nice surprise) but it’s good to have the cable stop there in case I decide to switch to cantis in the future.

Thanks again!

Walter’s TET Road Race Bike

Hey Guys!

Here are a couple of shots from the Kansas State Race. I am the guy pulling in the one picture and the other is a solo shot of me. Can’t see the bike that well, but I am on it and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I get tons of compliments!

Thanks,

TJ’s Single Speed MTB

tjsss

Hi Greg,

I sent a picture of my T.E.T. single-speed that Tom built for me last spring.

Your picture gallery is a bit lean in the off road bike department. I thought you might need a sweet looking Mountain bike that Tom built recently for the folks at home to see.

By the way, Tom builds one heck of a bike. Mine is built out of 100% Reynolds 853 tubing and thumbs up to that. It has such a great feel, my only regret is that I didn’t have it built sooner.

If anyone is contemplating doing a retro-build to their old ride to make it a true single-speed, (as I was) instead of getting a custom bike, I urge you to get a custom. You will not regret it. You get it built the way you want it. For instance, I wanted a eccentric bottom bracket but thought it would be nice to be able to gear it if I wanted to, so I had Tom add a rear derailleur hanger and cable stops along with the eccentric bb.

It’s a one of a kind ride and I get tons of complements on it. I’m hooked, Its T.E.T. custom built for me from here on out. Thanks for such a great product.

Thanks again, T.J. Dodd

Reed’s Teesdale

Tom,

I thought I would drop you a little feedback on the bicycle. I love it! Your workmanship is impressive and I can say that I have a machine that is a true work of art. I have attached a photo of the completed bike. The parts are as follows:

  • Ultegra 9sp gruppo
  • 12-27 cassette
  • 26,42,53 front chainrings
  • Ritchey comp 48cm ergo bars
  • Cane Creek S-pro headset
  • Cinelli solido stem
  • Shimano spd sport pedal
  • Ritchey seat post
  • Ritchey vector wing saddle
  • Sun/ Ringle ME14A rims, 36hole, laced 4 cross with Michelin Axial sport
  • 25×700c tires

I just can’t say enough about how smoothly the bike rides and how good it looks. Being 6′8″ it is tough to find good products. I have recommended you to everyone I know who is a rider and they have all been equally impressed with this machine. Feel free to use the picture or anything else from this e-mail if you want it for customer feedback on your web site or anything like that.

Thanks a million!
