TJ’s Single Speed MTB

tjsss

Hi Greg,

I sent a picture of my T.E.T. single-speed that Tom built for me last spring.

Your picture gallery is a bit lean in the off road bike department. I thought you might need a sweet looking Mountain bike that Tom built recently for the folks at home to see.

By the way, Tom builds one heck of a bike. Mine is built out of 100% Reynolds 853 tubing and thumbs up to that. It has such a great feel, my only regret is that I didn’t have it built sooner.

If anyone is contemplating doing a retro-build to their old ride to make it a true single-speed, (as I was) instead of getting a custom bike, I urge you to get a custom. You will not regret it. You get it built the way you want it. For instance, I wanted a eccentric bottom bracket but thought it would be nice to be able to gear it if I wanted to, so I had Tom add a rear derailleur hanger and cable stops along with the eccentric bb.

It’s a one of a kind ride and I get tons of complements on it. I’m hooked, Its T.E.T. custom built for me from here on out. Thanks for such a great product.

Thanks again, T.J. Dodd

Tom,

I thought I would drop you a little feedback on the bicycle. I love it! Your workmanship is impressive and I can say that I have a machine that is a true work of art. I have attached a photo of the completed bike. The parts are as follows:

  • Ultegra 9sp gruppo
  • 12-27 cassette
  • 26,42,53 front chainrings
  • Ritchey comp 48cm ergo bars
  • Cane Creek S-pro headset
  • Cinelli solido stem
  • Shimano spd sport pedal
  • Ritchey seat post
  • Ritchey vector wing saddle
  • Sun/ Ringle ME14A rims, 36hole, laced 4 cross with Michelin Axial sport
  • 25x700c tires

I just can’t say enough about how smoothly the bike rides and how good it looks. Being 6’8″ it is tough to find good products. I have recommended you to everyone I know who is a rider and they have all been equally impressed with this machine. Feel free to use the picture or anything else from this e-mail if you want it for customer feedback on your web site or anything like that.

Thanks a million!
